How to decorate your garden for free: 7 DIY ideas for creative recycling

Creative recycling of fruit crates

Especially if you regularly shop at the market or from a small producer who sells fruits and vegetables retail, you'll find your garage full of plastic crates. Considering that plastic is one of the most polluting materials, try giving them a second life before throwing them in the bin. Remove the longer side of the crate to create an opening. Then, stuff the bottom and the remaining long side with cushions. You've just made a little armchair! You can place it on a low wall, if you have one in your garden, or add a couple of tires under the crate, like a little table.

Creative Recycling of Boots
We could also call them "boot-planters." If you have old boots, fill them with soil and plant flowers in them: they will beautify and add color to the garden and yard in a rustic and very original way.

Creative Recycling of Cement
If you have leftover cement pieces from renovations, decorate them in this way and use them in the garden to display plants neatly and elegantly.

Creative Recycling of Water Bottles
Old jugs (even chipped, cracked, or broken) can be recycled into perfect plant and flower pots, to place on windowsills, on the ground, or on old outdoor stairs like this one.
